Washington, D.C. (7News) — At American University’s Katzen Arts Center, “The Magical World of Joan Danziger” offers the first career retrospective of the 91-year-old artist, showcasing more than 60 years of imaginative work. The exhibit features over 100 pieces, including mixed-media sculptures and paintings inspired by mythology, nature, and dreamlike imagery.
Danziger, who still creates art daily, is known for transforming materials like glass and metal into surreal, larger-than-life creatures that blur the line between reality and fantasy.
