What do our clients have to say?

The Toledo Museum of Art has worked with Blue Water since 2006. They regularly provide high-level counsel and strategic thinking from a programmatic standpoint as well as brand and reputation management. In addition, they work on national and international press. They regularly do media training with our staff, and are available, even at very short notice, to assist with crises or issues as they arise. I have worked closely with Lynnette on a wide range of initiatives, exhibitions, and issues and she is a consummate professional who always keeps the best interest of the museum in her thoughts and at the center of her advice and recommendations.
Amy Gilman, Ph.D.
Former Deputy Director, Toledo Museum of Art
Current Director, Chazen Museum of Art

Blue Water Communications was invaluable to the Columbus Museum of Art in garnering regional, national, and international press for our building expansion and Margaret M. Walter Wing. Blue Water helped us develop key messages and an 18-month strategy that kept CMA on message and on track and resulted media coverage that exceeded our expectations. In addition to being consummate professionals, the Blue Water team was a delight to work with and incredibly responsive. I would work with Blue Water again without hesitation.

Director of Marketing and Communications

In November 2010 when Crystal Bridges selected 11-11-11 as the much-anticipated date for the public opening, it was time to secure outside counsel to help direct our communications efforts. Blue Water Communications quickly floated to the top of the several agencies considered as a firm that had a strong grasp on the importance of opening a significant cultural institution in the heart of America. Blue Water, under Lynette Werning’s thoughtful leadership, proved agile in working on a compressed time schedule and with an organization still in the process of “becoming.” Most importantly, Blue Water took the time to learn the essence of our culture and helped design a campaign with messaging that introduced the world to Crystal Bridges. We could not have been more pleased with their expertise and cooperative spirit.

Deputy Director – Museum Relations

Blue Water Communications has been instrumental in helping us attract national and regional media attention to a diverse roster of exhibitions and special projects. Not only are they gifted strategists and writers, Lynnette and her team are engaged, responsive and a true pleasure to work with. One of the best services they provide is peace of mind!

Metroparks of the Toledo Area manages nine parks, regional trails and historical sites. Our multifaceted agency also offers dozens of educational programs and special events every month. With a small staff and modest advertising budget, the park district sought the help of professionals to make more intelligent decisions about where we spend our ad dollars.

In the three years that Blue Water Communications has been handling our media buying, we have greatly reduced the amount of staff time devoted to advertising and trimmed the fat out of our ad budget. Most important, we are more confident today that our messages are reaching the right audiences with the appropriate frequency.

Thanks to Blue Water’s experience, creativity and connections, we were able to launch a summer promotion, The Great Park Search, with several media partners. The promotion has brought people into the parks, helped stretch our ad budget and increased our visibility in the community. That makes us look good, and gives our customers – the taxpayers of Lucas County – an excellent return for their investment.

Lynnette and her team at Blue Water were ideal partners for Crystal Bridges. Their intense dedication during the launch of the museum garnered significant press at both a local and international level. This attention led to the phenomenal success and extraordinary attendance Crystal Bridges experienced in its first year.

Former Marketing Coordinator, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

We are a small team of artists and Blue Water Communications helped us promote our first public art project at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. They were willing to work with our budget and were able to get us multiple stories in the local newspapers and television stations. They were friendly and considerate, always keeping us well informed on what to expect, what the next step was and who to contact. Next time we have a project to promote, Blue Water Communications is the first company we will call!
